On Sunday, 16th March 2025, St. Bakhita Health Centre held a special Medical Camp at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
The outreach aimed to serve the community by offering free health services and creating awareness on key health issues — while continuing our mission to bring compassionate care closer to the people.
Why We Do It
Our medical camps are part of our ministry to care for the body and soul.
By partnering with local churches, we not only promote wellness but also extend our commitment to community health beyond hospital walls. The event was also an opportunity to educate, minister, and remind the congregation that early screening and preventive care save lives.
What We Offered
The camp featured a range of free services delivered by our dedicated medical staff and volunteers. These included:
- Consultations – 138 community members received one-on-one assessments and medical advice.
- HIV Testing and Counseling – 27 individuals accessed confidential testing and guidance.
- HPV Vaccinations – 12 girls received the HPV vaccine for cervical cancer prevention.
- Cervical Cancer Screening – 28 women benefited from screening and education.
- Eye Checkups – 20 attendees were examined for vision and eye health.
In addition to the medical services, the event provided space for open discussions on lifestyle diseases, nutrition, and preventive health ensuring participants left not just treated, but informed.

Voices from the Day
Patients expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting how convenient and comforting it was to receive care in a familiar, faith-centered environment.
One participant shared:
“I came for Mass and went home with peace of mind, knowing my health was checked. I truly thank St. Bakhita for this gift.”
What’s Next
Building on this success, St. Bakhita Health Centre will continue the outreach series with upcoming medical camps on:
- Palm Sunday – 13th April 2025 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (from 9:00 AM)
- Good Friday – 20th April 2025 at Holy Family Church (from 9:00 AM)
These events continue our mission to make quality healthcare accessible and to minister to the community through service.
A Thank You Note
